Addressing Food Insecurity with Forgotten Harvest

Read Time: 4 Min

Forgotten Harvest, a food rescue organization in Detroit, Michigan, fights against hunger and food insecurity by rescuing surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and supplying it to local struggling families. Huntington Community Impact Capital is proud to volunteer with such an impactful organization.

Volunteers at Forgotten Harvest

With a service heart and can-do attitude, our colleagues jumped in when Forgotten Harvest was short on volunteers. During Hunger Action Month in September, 50 of our colleagues moved 6,250 pounds of food that will feed 840 families in need.

By providing families with equitable access to nutritious food, we made a meaningful investment in the health and stability of metro Detroit communities.
