Food Security

When our neighbors face food insecurity, dreams get put on hold. Huntington colleagues are stepping in to help.

Huntington Colleagues Prepare Food for Michigan Residents in Need

During Huntington’s 2023 Colleague Appreciation Week, 76 West Michigan colleagues volunteered across the region to ensure families have access to nutritious food. In Kalamazoo, 13 colleagues helped sort and pack over 150 boxes of food for distribution to families throughout the city at the Loaves and Fishes Pantry.

In Holland, 40 colleagues worked at the Community Action House, and 15 colleagues helped distribute over 500 pounds of food at the Greater Lansing Food Bank. In Muskegon, eight colleagues prepared boxes at Kids Food Basket. We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication to supporting their communities.

Senior Support for Michigan Seniors

Our leaders are dedicated to supporting people in the communities we serve. Several members of Huntington’s Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team joined more than 20 colleagues to volunteer their support at Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan for senior citizens who experience food insecurity.

The group packaged 480 food boxes for the organization’s Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which aims to improve the health of low-income seniors who are prone to food insecurity.
