Financial Empowerment

Teaching the fundamentals of personal finance builds foundations for success.

Supporting Students for a Successful Future

In partnership with Junior Achievement (JA) of Northwest Ohio, regional Huntington colleagues volunteered at JA Inspire, a career exploration program designed for students to learn about and gain exposure to the industries and career opportunities available to them. The program brings a variety of careers to life through a virtual fair and a hands-on expo, while highlighting the different educational pathways available to reach them.

Approximately 3,500 students in grades 8 through 12 participated in interactive activities and networked with over 80 companies and organizations for exposure to potential career opportunities that they may not have known existed.

Colleagues from IT Security Outreach were a part of “Bankers Row” at the event. Students went through cyber security awareness training and learned how to identify common phishing scams. They also talked to colleagues about career opportunities at Huntington. We’re proud to inspire, teach, and encourage a new generation as they prepare for the future.

Teaching Financial Preparedness to Over 200 Students

Financial literacy education at a young age can set up students for a better prepared, more confident future. To support this pursuit, Huntington sponsored the Baller’s Conference, a one-day summit designed to prepare youth for financial inclusion and empowerment in central Ohio. More than 200 students learned about future financial success at this one-day summit.

Students experienced breakout sessions focused on credit, budgeting, college preparedness, investments, and insurance. During the group activity at lunch, teams created a pitch to solve a problem in the Black community and help residents develop healthy spending habits.
