Affordable Housing
Creating opportunities through education, networking, and rolling up our sleeves.
Supporting Diversity Homeownership in Minnesota
Huntington mortgage and retail banking teams in Minnesota, together with diverse realtor organizations, connected 250 potential homebuyers with educational resources, lenders, and real estate professionals at the second annual Twin Cities Diversity Homeownership Fair. This event empowers diverse groups by increasing sustainable homeownership opportunities and promoting financial wellness in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Thanks to the effort of four of the largest diverse trade organizations in Minnesota—Asian Real Estate Association of America, LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance Minnesota, Twin Cities National Association of Real Estate Brokers, and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals—we provided the resources and education needed to help make homeownership a reality for these groups.
Building Homes for Veterans in Colorado
The Huntington Military Business Resource Group (BRG) understands the time and resources needed to support our veterans. As part of their mission, the Colorado region BRG spent a day constructing tiny homes for homeless veterans at the Veterans Community Project (VCP) Village in Longmont, Colorado.
VCP Village is a crossover venture between Veterans Community Project, the City of Longmont, and HMS Development. This community is located on a two-acre property, approximately 13 miles northeast of Boulder. It will feature 26 tiny houses and a 3,000-square foot community center.
The 21 single residency homes will be 240 square feet, and the five family homes will be 340 square feet and can sleep up to seven people. In addition to housing, VCP also provides free new furniture, appliances, bedding, and utilities, free of charge.
