David J. Lochner is president of Huntington’s East Michigan Region.Lochner joined Huntington in 2016 following the merger of FirstMerit into the company. While at FirstMerit, he served as president of the Michigan region. He was responsible for the bank’s commercial, industrial, commercial real estate and not-for-profit lines of business throughout the state. Lochner also served on the board of directors of FirstMerit Bank, N.A.
Prior to joining FirstMerit, Lochner served as director of commercial banking for RBS Citizens in Michigan, and was a member of the bank’s Michigan Executive Leadership Group. He also was a senior vice president and commercial banking division head for LaSalle Bank Midwest. His banking career began at National Bank of Detroit, where he held various positions in corporate banking, middle market banking and commercial credit administration.
Prior to beginning his commercial banking career, he was director of bands at Northwest Junior High School in Jackson, Michigan. He holds a finance MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, and a bachelor of instrumental music education from Eastern Michigan University.
Lochner serves on the board of trustees of the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, the board of directors of the British American Business Counsel of Michigan, the board of directors and chair of the fund development committee of the Midnight Golf Program, and the board of trustees and the executive committee of the Lutheran Social Services of Michigan Foundation.
