Sarah Pohmer

Sarah Pohmer is Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for Huntington National Bank. She is responsible for critical human resources functions including strategic workforce planning, talent, learning development and succession management, in addition to culture, compensation and benefits.

Before joining Huntington, Pohmer spent 25 years with J.P. Morgan Chase and Co., where she provided HR executive counsel and organizational support across several key businesses and functions including strategy and product marketing, technology, operations, finance and risk. She most recently served as Managing Director, Head of Human Resources for Consumer Bank. In this role she was responsible for developing the HR strategy and employee experience to maximize the bank’s ability to acquire, leverage, develop and reward colleagues for their contributions to the company and their services to the customer.

Prior to this role, Pohmer held several leadership positions at Chase, including Head of HR for Card, Connected Commerce and Acquisitions and Head of HR for Central Ohio. Throughout her career she has dedicated her efforts to developing talent, fostering employee relations and providing executive coaching.

Pohmer earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Dayton and a Master’s in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. She resides in Powell, Ohio with her husband and four daughters.
